Now in its 5th year, Equality Virginia (EV) hosts an annual Transgender Information and Empowerment Summit (TIES) each fall in Richmond. The 2017 conference drew over 400 individuals from around the state.

Recognizing a need, this summer, EV is taking the event on the road, introducing statewide TIES Pop-Ups in Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, and Southwest Virginia. The TIES Pop-Up will offer much of what the annual conference has become known for including, trans-affirming mental health & medical consultations, name and gender marker change clinic, employment readiness training, how-to-tell-your-story advocacy workshops, and the opportunity to get to know community organizations and resources.

The Hampton Roads TIES Pop-Up will take place on Saturday, July 21 from 4-9 p.m. at the Slover Library in downtown Norfolk.  The conference is open to transgender and gender diverse individuals as well as their allies. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.

To make TIES Pop-Ups possible, Equality Virginia has partnered locally with the Transgender Assistance Project (TAP) to produce the event at the Slover Library.  To register, click on the button below.
